The project

A compact boarding house on a constrained infill site, using an inner courtyard to bring daylight and fresh air into every room.

The site sits between taller boarding-house walls and neighbouring homes, creating a risk of dark, humid rooms with little privacy. The design introduces a central courtyard as a vertical breathing space: a route for warm air to escape and daylight to reach the interior.
